Wind walkers...
Thanksgiving Day labyrinth walk, cloudy, mid-afternoon... gusty, it was... the southeast wind lifting the tarps of the wood pile, blowing the rest of the Linden and Cherry leaves around the paths in swirls... little vortexes (vortices?) of wispy energy twisting around the curves of the stone-lined paths. Wind walkers dancing along the path reminding me of hay twisting into floating spirals in a hot summer hay field... dust swirling up off the dirt road, water spiraling between rocks and trees in a local stream.... or below the old river dam... How easy it was back then to get 'caught up' in those little swirls... and just drift away for a moment.... hhhmmm.... maybe in these moments, we move closer to who we really? I walk in the wind, along the path... I AM THAT, IAM! I give thanks! :)

Reflections...
Sunset (to the right, west) reflecting off the Grandmother Linden Tree. She sits at the north end of the old house overlooking both the labyrinths, the original 7-cycle built with yarn and bricks in the mid 1990's and the newer 5-path spiral Stellata (star) labyrinth. Just too wonderful not to share! Enjoy, Deb
Wasps hanging out in the Labyrinth.
The last of the yellow heart-shaped Linden Leaves (left) and the cherry tree (right) hanging out in the 5-path star labyrinth. This 45' diameter stone garden leads the walker along the spiral path gently turning in different directions, providing alternating perceptions of the journey to center. From mid-August until mid-October, a large paperwasp nest 'hung out' in the Linden Tree branches just above the center path. White faced paper wasps gently guarded their space... chosen for the warmth rising up from the stone paths, warmed by the bright fall sunshine, as they made themselves ready for their winter challenges. At first it was small, softball size. A group of us walked in and out of the labyrinth during a Shamballa 13D class. Half way thru my last
walk, I came 3rd eye to its entrance with it. This was folllowed by weeks of asking for info from nature, reading, listening... Coming eventually to the awareness that the more I resisted their being in my space (yikes?!) the more they were resisting leaving (and yes, I asked them to move on, and so did others) but in reality, they were just subletting, squatting, where I really had no plans to be. As I released my resistance to them, it released to many other things in my life. As I invited awareness and understanding about them, I received more about other things in my life. As I came ultimately to appreciate, even welcome the wisdom and knowledge, awareness coming from the experience, to gratefully allow their presence in my life to be a gift that supported my journey, many other things in my life seemed to become easier and gentler. They chose my Linden Tree, my labyrinth, my space to hang out. Shamanicaly, the 1st wave of these critters builds the core of the next and feeds the queen, who lays the eggs, that become more workers, so there's a bigger nest, more food, etc... it's all part of their winter prep. The Linden tree is 2nd generation here of our big tree...has a gentle, calming balancing energy, puts out cazillions of tiny delicate white flowers in mid-end June. So many that the bees that come to collect the nectar can be heard all around the house. This Labyrinth, a 5-path form, numerically invites opportunity for growth and learning thru creating change and new experiences into our lives. Hhmm.... I put it all together and know that they have brought me a great gift of awareness of how things evolve... interesting... the new blog is http://www.naturalevolutions.blogspot.com/.... gotta love it! From the beginning...
The simplest way to start: is just to ask to connect to whatever guide or angel is working with you and put on some nice music and spend a little time on a regular basis, just tracing the paths with different fingers. Labyrinths can help balance energy in your body and aura... many think it helps clear out (tracing the path into center) what is blocking us from something and assist in bringing in whatever energy or frequency is needed to support us manifesting what we intend... (the path from center back to beginning)... no accidents, mistakes, wrong turns... just the journey to the sacred center of 'self' and back into the present moment!... all metaphore if you choose to see it that way! I like to switch fingers (different sides of the brain, you know... and different meridians running thru each finger) just to see how it feels...
If you'd like more focus, pull a card or write down an issue you'd like some information on. Intend to clear any confusion about this issue on your journey to the center... pause as long as you feel guided at the middle... and listen (in as many ways as you know) to what ever flows into your awareness as you trace the path back to the beginning. Remember that a shift in energy (vibration/frequency) often takes a bit of time (and what is time?) to manifest into the physical. Be gentle with yourself... perhaps your answers will come unexpectedly in a dream or vision... an awareness or an 'ah ha!' at an unexpected moment...
Experiment with different forms... The Chartes design has many twists and turns. A Classic 7 cyle, fewer paths, gentler curves... The Man in the Maze (a southwestern motif) is also fun. I'll look for some pics to put up in a few days... but you will find them all if you poke around the internet a bit... If you know a Dowser... they have lots of info about such things as well... and other cool stuff like ley lines... one of the best sites I was ever on was Sig Lonegren's geomancy site... not sure it's still around... but I'll put a link in if I can find it... yup it's here! http://www.geomancy.org/ I spent literally weeks absorbing the info there... and that was just the labyrinth info... Check out the labyrinth locator sites also... http://labyrinthlocator.com/locate-a-labyrinth and visit local sites... our five-path labyrinth is shown in West Wareham, MA 02576. There are lots of cool links on that site as well.
By the way... wondering if anyone would like to join a meet up? we could pick from the lists of local labyrinths... and plan a series of group visits. Folks from all over come to visit here... Skip & I try to visit local installations whenever we are travelling; A friend and I just happened to find one on a mountain in Vermont a couple of years ago when we were driving to a Crystal conference. We made a point to stop on our way home... priorities, you know! Sometimes, it nice just to have a visit and a walk with others and share. Feel free.. perhaps a 'virtual labyrinth share' is a better idea in New England right now... did you SEE the Snow Sunday? I put the rope labyrinth down on the green grass first thing Sunday morning.... when I picked it up just about dark, the star was frozen in shape... no way was I going to wind up and pack up all that icy rope! It's dry now... And the kit & info brochure are coming together.
hhmm... the sun has set on my labyrinths for today... gonna go snuggle with the pups... hubby's out on frost watch... keeping those little red berries warm enough to become juice.
In peace & wellness

A Silver Cord Connects Heaven and Earth
Welcome to A Silver Cord... a new blog... a place to share our labyrinth experiences, thoughts,
knowledge, links, art...
Are we all connected?
Are all Labyrinths connected at the center... what is going on energetically in a labyrinth?
We surely are being invited to recognize that everything we do, perhaps everything we think
actually creates an ongoing effect.
Have you walked in a labyrinth? Did you know you can trace a the path of a small labyrinth path with your finger for an experience really similar to actually walking on a labyrinth built on the earth?
Send me a note to receive one of my original designs... a heart labyrinth...
with simple meditation. It's a jpg file, so you can print it out for use with the kids anytime.
I will send it by email if that's ok... thanks... still working on the link thing!
Post a comment and we'll figure it out...
For now, you click on the small one below & print it if you like.
